→ Meet Ebunoluwa Ade-Taiwo a product marketing manager. In our virtual conversation, she shared what piqued her interest in product marketing after 6 years in content marketing and why she decided to follow her mind.

After 6 years in content marketing, Ebun knew it was time to go deeper. For years, she had built her marketing career on solid B2B and B2C content marketing—blog posts, email newsletters, social media, and push notifications. She had done it all.

But at some point, and as it should be for every professional, she wanted more. Ebun said:

“I wanted an all-encompassing marketing skill that can help me scale up a product outside of content.”

That led her to product marketing and Treford’s bootcamp.

Realising What the Next Step is for Her Career

Ebun wasn’t leaving marketing; she was growing in it.

She told us that while content marketing is powerful, she felt it’s just one piece of the puzzle as someone working in a product-led company, Quidax. Product marketing, on the other hand, brings together go-to-market strategy, positioning, messaging and product growth—a more strategic layer that helps drive adoption and retention.

Even though she hadn’t transitioned formally into a product marketing role yet, Ebun was already thinking about upskilling for the future. She wanted to be more effective beyond content and gain a broader understanding of product growth.

“Every other thing that makes up a product outside of content is covered by product marketing, which I was curious about.”

Following Through on Her Goals with an Action Plan

Like many intentional professional, Ebun didn’t choose randomly. She asked around. She had friends who had taken the Product Marketing Bootcamp at Treford and were doing fantastic work in their different roles across the tech companies.

“I know where they work and I see the amazing stuff they do. So I thought why not Treford too.”

Even though she hadn’t formally transitioned into a product marketing manager role at the time, Ebun was already thinking about preparing for the role…

When Growth Comes with Progress

Though Ebun still held a content-focused role at her company, her contributions were beginning to shift. Thanks to the learnings and skills acquired at the bootcamp, she now brings product-level thinking to the table.

“A skill I gained during the bootcamp is preparing go-to-market strategy. Another is how to position a brand and craft excellent brand messaging.”

And it’s already changing how she’s seen at work.

“Before now, my role was solely focused on content. But now, when I come up with documents or give suggestions during work calls, they are more inclined towards product marketing.”

Beyond the Curriculum: Tools, Habits & Community

Ebun shares one of the benefits of the bootcamp: the practical tools and mindset shifts she picked up from the facilitators.

“Some of the tutors recommended tools that I now use in my current role. One even introduced us to AIRPM, a ChatGPT extension—I’ve found it super helpful.”

Another area of growth was her activity on LinkedIn. Previously, Ebun stayed away from the platform.

“I used to find LinkedIn very cringe. I still do. But I’m trying to get over that because the tutors encouraged us to be more active.”

When we asked about her favourite aspect of the bootcamp, Ebun highlights the group learning aspect of the bootcamp. It allowed her to engage with other learners and build a community around shared progress.
